Han Goan Lim

Lim is always looking for the bigger picture. He started his career as a sculptor, making the city his main playground. His sculptures, whether they are immense or of less grand dimensions, have one thing in common: they seek dialog with their environments.

For Lim, sculpture and art in general must be an integral part of their urban surroundings, a poetic allusion. The main objective in his work and projects is to accomplish a meaningful relationship between art and architecture in city life and public spaces. Most importantly, he aims to stimulate members of the public to become more observant of their environs, allowing them to discover and appreciate the beauty of their daily surroundings.

Lim’s sculptures can be found in both larger, established cities as well as smaller satellite towns in the Netherlands. His works can be found in private and public collections, e.g. Boijmans van Beuningen Museum.

Lim graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He lives and works in Rotterdam, NL.
